Privacy Policy
- Music Wall has no account and no servers of its own.
- There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- The developer does not receive your music library or payment details. Requests to other services are described below.
This policy explains what Music Wall (“the app”) does with information on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, and what it sends to other services so that it can work.
Your music library
With your permission, the app reads your Apple Music library on your device to show your albums and playlists as a wall and to play them. Album details, artwork, recommendations and playback come from Apple through MusicKit, directly between your device and Apple. Apple handles that data under the Apple Privacy Policy. The developer never receives your library.
What the app sends to other services
Lyrics (LRCLIB)
When lyrics are shown, the app looks up the current song in LRCLIB, a free, community-run lyrics database. The request contains the song title, artist, album and length. It contains no account, name or device identifier. Like any website, LRCLIB can see the IP address the request comes from. You can turn off “Show lyrics” in Music Wall’s Settings › Player at any time.
Missing album artwork (Apple)
If Apple Music cannot provide an album’s cover, the app may search Apple’s iTunes Search service with the album title, artist and your store country to find one.
Network check (Apple)
During setup, the app checks network access by requesting an Apple test page or making a generic iTunes Search request. Each check includes a newly generated random value to avoid cached responses; this is not a persistent device identifier. Apple receives the network request, including its source IP address. The check does not include your music library or Apple Account credentials.
What stays on your device
- Your settings, a copy of your library list and cached artwork, so the wall opens quickly. Caches can be cleared by the system and are removed when you delete the app.
- Recent recommendations in Discover.
- Information the widgets need, shared between the app and its widgets on the same device.
Free trial and purchases
Purchases are made through Apple’s App Store. The developer never sees your payment details. The app checks Apple’s signed purchase record on your device to unlock features.
To make sure the 24-hour free trial runs only once, the app stores when your trial started in your device’s keychain and in your own iCloud (iCloud key-value storage and iCloud Keychain). This record stays in your Apple Account, may remain after you delete the app, and is not accessible to the developer.
Photos
If you save your collector card, the app asks for permission to add one image to your photo library. It never reads your photos.
Emails to the developer
If you contact us by email, we use your address and message only to reply. The feedback email the app prepares includes the app version and system version, which you can remove before sending.
Children
The same data practices described in this policy apply to all users, including children. Music Wall does not provide a separate account system for children.
Your choices
- Turn off Apple Music access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Media & Apple Music.
- Turn off “Show lyrics” in Music Wall’s Settings › Player to stop lyrics requests.
- Delete the app to remove its settings and caches from the device.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
